We specialize in narrow width precision slitting and oscillation. Our “toll only” processing facility handles various types of strip up to 36 inches wide in a thickness range of .010 - .095. Oscillated packs are 3 - 12 inches wide weighing up to 3000 lbs.

Slitting

  • Metals For Industry is not responsible for customer Quality Control. We will inspect customer material and report any defects or damage to the customer, but are not responsible for the condition of incoming material - this includes grade, type, hardness, finish or gauge. We measure gauge at the beginning and end of coils, but do not monitor throughout the run.
  • Inspection charges may apply to orders that are not completed or rejected due to Quality Control issues.
  • In accordance with our ISO:9001 registry, all slitting requires written instructions. Slit instructions and/or purchase order numbers must be in writing before we can proceed with processing.
  • We require a minimum of .250” of scrap to process slitting. Any material out of tolerance is slit on a best effort basis.

Material Storage and Handling

  • Metals For Industry is unable to inventory or store customer material nor have material come in and out.
  • All material incoming to MFI must be on skids and rear forklift unload for safety purposes. The shipper reserves the right to refuse any load that he deems to be unsafe.
  • The maximum incoming weight we can receive is 12,000 lbs per skid.
  • MFI’s shipping and receiving hours are 6:30am-3pm Monday to Thursday and 6:30am to 12pm Friday. If you are shipping something outside of our normal hours please contact us in advance and we will make every effort to accommodate you.
  • We are a toll processor only and as such material needs to be picked up promptly upon completion.

Quoting

  • MFI quotes all job based on incoming weight. Our standard procedure is Freight on Board MFI and we keep the scrap.
  • Any changes in the order (i.e. change in size or number of coils) invalidates the original price and is subject to a renegotiated quotation.
  • Our payment terms are net 30.
